Coming Home: A Faith & Healing Pilgrimage to the Holyland


DAY 01     DEPARTURE MANILA

Airport Check-in 2055H at NAIA Terminal 3 – via Emirates Airlines for your flight to Cairo with transit in Dubai. Enjoy luxurious meals and entertainment onboard.

DAY 02    CAIRO

Arrive CAIRO AIRPORT at 1005H, meet and tour commence immediately starting in OLD CAIRO for visit at the HANGING CHURCH and COPTIC CHURCH where it is believed the HOLY FAMILY stayed after fleeing from Bethlehem for fear of Herod’s order of slaughtering infants under 3 years. Lunch en-route. Then visit Papyrus Factory to discover how the first paper was made during the ancient time before proceeding to the hotel for check-in. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 03    CAIRO

Hotel Breakfast. This full city tour includes a visit to the Egyptian Museum, Pyramids, and Sphinx. Lunch en-route. Afternoon itinerary includes a visit to Khan El Khalili Bazaar to find good bargains for souvenir items until evening. Then on a Dinner cruise and be entertained by the Belly Dancer and enjoy watching the skilled “Men in Skirt” rendering his piece. Back to hotel in Cairo for overnight. (Scheduled Mass at ST JOSEPH CHURCH or to another Catholic church in Cairo.)

DAY 04    CAIRO – ST. CATHERINE

Hotel Breakfast. Check out for long drive towards St. Catherine passing by Moses Springs and the Suez Canal. Lunch en-route then continue drive to HOTEL in ST. CATHERINE for Check-in, Dinner, and overnight.

DAY 05   ST. CATHERINE – BETHLEHEM

Early morning on Sunrise and proceed to Mt. Sinai the traditional site where Moses received the Ten Commandments. Then return to the Hotel in time for breakfast and check out. Then drive towards Taba Border for crossing into Israel via Eilat. Drive to the lowest spot on earth, the Dead Sea. Then to Qumran for viewing the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found inside a jar by a shepherd boy. Then to the oldest city in the world, Jericho for visit Mount of Temptation and Sycamore Tree. Continue to drive towards Bethlehem for hotel check in. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Bethlehem.

DAY 06   BETHLEHEM – JERUSALEM – BETHLEHEM

After breakfast visit  Mt. of Olives, visit the Church of the Ascension, visit Pater Noster Church, the Dominos Flevit Church, where Jesus wept over Jerusalem shortly before the destruction of the second temple. Then on continue to visit the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus has been captured by the Romans after he has been betrayed by Judas. Onto Mt. Zion to visit the St. Peter in Galicantu, then King David’s Tomb and the Upper room (The Last Supper Room), visit the Dormition Abbey. Enter the Old City of Jerusalem from Dung Gate, visit the Walling Wall, onto the area of the Mosque built on Mt. Moriah (Temple Mount). Then walk the traditional Way of the Cross to the 14 Stations of the Cross, and visit the Holy Sepulcher Church and the Empty Tomb of Jesus Christ.  Return to the HOTEL in BETHLEHEM your dinner and overnight.

DAY 07  BETHLEHEM – HAIFA – NAZARETH

Hotel Breakfast and check-out, then visit the Nativity Church the birthplace of Jesus Christ, and Milk Grotto and Shepherd’s Field, Then onto Ein Karem, visit St John the Baptist Church and nearby the Church of Visitation (Luke 1:39-56). Continue to drive via Tel Aviv & Jaffa the commercial capital of Israel. Then on to Jaffa, to visit Peter’s Church, the House of Simon the Tanner, the Old City of Jaffa, and the old port. Then proceed to Haifa City,  Mt. Carmel and enjoy a panoramic view over the Bay. Visit Stella Maris (Mt. Carmel Church) on top and Cave of Alia (Elijah). Continue visit to the Hanging Gardens and view the Bahai’ Shrine. Then on to Cana, where Jesus did His first Miracle by changing water into wine. Continue to drive Nazareth for dinner and overnight.

DAY 08  TIBERIAS AREA

After breakfast, visit Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry and where He used to live and heal the sick, preaching in the synagogue and performing miracles (Matthew 9:1, 4:13). Then head to Tabgha to visit the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish, Church of St. Peter’s Primacy. Then on to Mt. of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-8). Continue visit to the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized in the river by John the Baptist (Mark 1:9-11). Drive up to Mount Tabor (Jesus Transfiguration) Dinner and overnight in HOTEL in NAZARETH.

DAY 09  NAZARETH – JERASH – AMMAN

Hotel Breakfast and Check-out.  Then visit the impressive Basilica of Annunciation, St. Joseph Church – see the original workshop of St. Joseph and Home of the Holy Family. Drive to the border for crossing into JORDAN. The group be met and welcomed by the local guide. Then continue to drive to Jerash, a well-preserved city of the Roman Empire. See the biblical land of Gilead with ancient ruins, temples, theaters and plazas before check in at Hotel in AMMAN for Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 10  DAYTOUR TO PETRA

After breakfast, enjoy the drive along desert highways leading to Petra – the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom dating 300 BC. Start the adventure by horseback leading to the Siq, the narrow canyon, and then walk 1.2 km till you reach the most beautiful monument: the Treasury. Among other monuments you will see are the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, Pharaoh’s Castle, the Amphitheater and the Monastery El Deir. Return to hotel in Amman for Dinner and overnight.

DAY 11  MT. NEBO – MADABA – AIRPORT

Hotel Breakfast. Check out and then visit Madaba the Roman Byzantine town & Mt. Nebo where Moses was buried. (Lunch en route). Then transfer to Queen Alia Airport.

DAY 12  ARRIVAL MANILA

Arrival in Manila.
